About The Role:
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead and mentor our DevOps team, ensuring best practices in automation, monitoring, and incident response. This hands-on leadership role involves architecting and managing enterprise-scale AWS infrastructure, expanding infrastructure-as-code, and guiding cloud-native operations while partnering closely with engineering and security teams.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Director of DevOps and make informed decisions independently in high-pressure situations
• Lead and mentor DevOps team members to implement best practices in automation, monitoring, and incident response
• Architect, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure using cloud-native patterns
• Maintain and expand infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Ansible
• Manage multiple Kubernetes clusters for enterprise-scale applications
• Implement and optimize observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog
• Partner with Engineering and QA teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and release management
• Maintain strong documentation, clear Jira tickets, and runbooks to support execution
• Drive modern DevOps and SRE practices including GitOps, immutable infrastructure, auto-scaling, and blue/green & canary deployments
• Support disaster recovery planning, capacity management, and compliance requirements (PCI DSS, SOC 2)
Experience & Skills:
• 5–8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
• Strong AWS expertise (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, Route53, etc.)
• Proven experience with Terraform in production environments
• Solid hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS preferred) and container orchestration patterns
• Experience with Datadog or equivalent observability stacks (Prometheus, New Relic, etc.)
• Ability to remain effective and decisive during incidents, outages, and critical releases
• Strong technical writing and organizational skills for Jira tickets, runbooks, and postmortems
• Familiarity with modern DevOps/SRE principles: CI/CD, immutable infrastructure, monitoring-first culture, GitOps, automated testing, and secrets management
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Prior experience mentoring junior DevOps engineers or leading small teams
Bonus Skills:
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid architectures
• Exposure to database performance and scaling (MySQL, Postgres, NoSQL)
• Knowledge of security automation tools (Vault, AWS Security Hub)
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, SOC 2)
