As our global footprint grows, we are expanding our Platform and Core Services team and are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join us.

In this role, you will be part of the team responsible for operating and evolving the cloud infrastructure and developer tooling that supports Udacity’s learning platform. We strongly believe in infrastructure-as-code and automation-first practices. You will work across cloud infrastructure, tooling, and production systems while collaborating closely with engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
• Implement, maintain, and support Udacity’s production platform
• Introduce and evaluate new technologies within the engineering platform space
• Manage and operate cloud services primarily across AWS and Cloudflare
• Support developers building new student-facing applications
• Use configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools to deploy and maintain services
• Participate in on-call rotations and assist with production incident response

Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting production systems
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Cloudflare, and Kubernetes
• Development experience in Go, Python, or Ruby
• Strong background running microservices on Linux using Docker, ideally within Kubernetes on AWS
• Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CloudFormation
• Interest in systems engineering, networking, and security administration
• Ability to mentor team members and encourage professional growth
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to simplify complex challenges
• Comfortable working under pressure in production environments
• Curiosity and willingness to continuously learn new tools and technologies
• Patience and resourcefulness when handling ambiguous operational requests
