Hyatt is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join our Corporate Information Technology team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support Hyatt’s central database systems while collaborating with system operations, application teams, and project managers to ensure smooth database operations. Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and manage critical database systems, acting as a subject matter expert in at least two DBMS technologies
• Provide ongoing documentation for existing and new database deployments
• Collaborate with business units and project managers to deliver database support
• Serve as a central point of contact for assigned projects
• Independently execute new and existing database build-outs and projects
• Ensure full coverage of documentation and monitoring of database deployments
• Perform installation, configuration, and upgrades of Informix (preferred), DB2, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL (preferred)
• Conduct database monitoring and performance tuning
• Execute standard and advanced backup and recovery operations
• Manage database connections, clustering, and user access
• Support application teams with database configuration and performance tuning issues
• Participate in weekly on-call rotations
• Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation to advance database infrastructure
Qualifications:
• Strong experience with at least two DBMS (Informix, DB2, MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
• Proficiency in Linux OS and scripting
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
• Experience performing application releases, data manipulation, SQL enhancements, and database cloning
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals is a plus
• College degree or equivalent work experience; database/OS certifications preferred
Experience Preferred:
• Hands-on experience with multiple database technologies
• Proven ability to work independently on complex projects
• Experience supporting enterprise-level systems and applications
