Description:
Pilot.com is seeking a Senior Consultant, Financial Operations to join our U.S.-based remote team and partner with high-growth startups to optimize their operational finance functions. In this role, you will work closely with clients, guiding them through payroll, benefits, AP/AR, equity administration, and compliance, while mentoring junior team members and ensuring world-class operational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solve complex operational challenges and scale back-office operations for startup clients.
  • Lead operational engagements with multiple junior team members, ensuring exceptional results.
  • Maintain regular client communication, provide actionable recommendations, and manage expectations.
  • Implement best practices for payroll workflows, AP/AR processes, equity administration, and compliance frameworks.
  • Research industry trends and operational tools to advise clients strategically.
  • Build long-term client relationships and drive measurable improvements in operational KPIs.
  • Track, evaluate, and enhance Financial Operations initiatives, offerings, and processes.
  • Support new product development, strategic initiatives, and partnerships to expand service offerings.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members in navigating complex operational engagements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 4-6+ years of experience in back-office operations, operational finance, or startup operations.
  • Technical expertise in payroll, benefits administration, AP/AR, equity administration, or compliance is a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through complex operational engagements and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with operational workflows; Notion experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail; capable of prioritizing large amounts of unstructured information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to distill information into actionable frameworks.
  • Highly entrepreneurial, proactive, and able to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong collaborative relationships across teams and functions.
