Description:
Cemcoa Limited is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Chartering Executive to independently oversee and manage chartering operations across West Africa and the Atlantic markets, including Europe, North America, and South America. This strategic role focuses on developing freight matrices from key regions such as the Mediterranean, Black Sea, and the Pacific, while optimizing profitability on assigned routes.
The ideal candidate will be commercially savvy, have an active network of brokers and shipowners, and demonstrate a consistent track record in fixing vessels independently and profitably. You will play a central role in route development and market positioning, contributing directly to Cemcoa’s chartering strategies in high-potential areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full chartering responsibilities for designated routes within West Africa and the Atlantic basin.
- Independently fix vessels on both voyage and time charter basis while ensuring effective negotiation and contract risk management.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with brokers, shipowners, and other key industry players.
- Strategically trade freight using dynamic insights from the MED, BSEA, and Pacific markets to strengthen freight competitiveness.
- Prepare market reports and updates to monitor trends and support strategic decision-making.
- Conduct precise voyage costing and analyze post-fixture profitability, including laytime review.
- Work in close coordination with internal teams including Trade, Business Development, and Operations to execute seamless cargo handling.
- Provide senior management with regular insights on chartering performance, risks, and market developments.
Technical / Academic Competencies:
- Proficiency in TC/TCT calculations, bulk purchasing, and full cycle management of voyage files.

- Hands-on knowledge of vessel segments from Handy to Capesize.
- Proven experience in freight trading for West Africa, Atlantic, Europe, and South America.
- Familiarity with cargo flows originating from MED, BSEA, and Pacific regions.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and key chartering platforms/tools.
- Fluent in English; multilingual proficiency is advantageous.
