About the Role
Pilot is building a hybrid software + service solution that streamlines the financial back office for growing companies. As a Senior Bookkeeper on the Finance Operations team, you’ll manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients—leveraging Pilot’s tooling to deliver accurate books, useful financial reports, and an outstanding client experience. You’ll also contribute feedback that helps improve Pilot’s product and automation.
Key Responsibilities
• Use Pilot’s platform to produce complete, high-quality books and financial statements for assigned clients.
• Design and document scalable bookkeeping workflows that record client financial activity accurately and efficiently.
• Build strong working relationships with clients and deliver a responsive, professional service experience.
• Troubleshoot client issues and work with internal teams or R&D to improve systems and processes.
• Mentor and coach junior bookkeepers, helping them grow technical skills and follow best practices.
• Contribute process improvements and automation ideas to increase accuracy and throughput.
About You (Need-to-haves)
• 5–7+ years of relevant finance, accounting, consulting, or business experience.
• B.S. or M.S. in Accounting, Business, Economics, or similar (or equivalent practical experience).
• Comfortable with fast-changing software and client environments — quick learner and tech-savvy.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and sound judgment when prioritizing tasks and escalating issues.
• Proven ability to mentor or train junior team members and contribute to an inclusive team culture.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets.
Nice-to-haves
• Background in public accounting or industry accounting.
• Prior people management experience.

Compensation Note
