We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join one of our core teams responsible for building and maintaining the backend of Openly’s insurance platform. This role plays a critical part in shaping our systems, APIs, and internal tooling while enhancing the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop core systems and APIs.
- Build internal tooling and services to improve business and engineering processes.
- Implement systemic changes aligning existing systems with architectural goals.
- Integrate with external services for payments, documents, and claims.
- Work with data providers to source real-time information for property and risk analysis.
- Mentor team members and provide subject matter expertise.
- Contribute to architectural and operational decisions, including deployment strategies and technology choices.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, 1:1s, and retrospectives.

Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of professional backend development experience.
- Strong experience with Go (code challenge required).
- Proven track record in improving business-critical systems for stability, performance, and scalability.
- Ability to deliver complete systems independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
