The Data Platform Team plays a critical role in designing and maintaining scalable data infrastructure that enables business units to make informed, data-driven decisions. As a Senior Analytics Engineer II, you will transform vast volumes of raw data into reliable, structured datasets that power analytics, experimentation, reporting, and advanced modeling initiatives across Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable dimensional and relational data models for analytical use cases
- Build and optimize dbt transformation pipelines to ensure data quality, cost-efficiency, and performance
- Own curated dataset modeling (Silver/Gold layers) with clear traceability from raw to business-ready data
- Partner with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into sustainable data products
- Implement data quality testing, monitoring, SLAs, and alerting systems
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to establish data contracts and maintain schema consistency
- Promote analytics engineering best practices including documentation, testing standards, version control, and peer reviews
- Enable self-service analytics by building well-structured data marts and semantic layers
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience working with enterprise-scale data environments
- Advanced SQL expertise with strong query optimization skills
- Extensive hands-on experience with dbt, including testing and documentation
- Strong Python programming skills for automation and data workflows
- Deep knowledge of dimensional modeling techniques such as star schemas
- Experience with modern cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks)
- Familiarity with orchestration frameworks and CI/CD practices using Git
- Understanding of data governance, privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, SOX), and BI tools like Tableau or Looker
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical insights for diverse audiences
