Description:
Celero Commerce is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team in a fully remote capacity. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a background in the payments industry, looking to lead key financial processes, collaborate across departments, and mentor junior staff while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage month-end close processes to guarantee timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare complex journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Handle multi-entity consolidations, allocations, and eliminations
- Oversee sales tax, payroll tax, and regulatory filings across multiple states, ensuring compliance
- Maintain and track the fixed asset schedule, including capitalization and depreciation
- Support external audits with schedules, documentation, and timely responses
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff to foster growth and knowledge-sharing
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and streamline operations
Experience & Requirements
- Remote position (note: applicants from California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Washington will not be considered)
- Proven experience in month-end close processes and journal entry preparation
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards
- Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting
- Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting systems
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communicator and collaborator across teams
- Leadership mindset with ability to mentor junior staff
- Proactive, self-starter attitude with strong problem-solving skills
