We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and overall financial health of the company.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
• Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Assist in preparation of the annual report and disclosures
• Conduct variance and trend analysis to uncover insights, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting, providing actionable recommendations
Regulatory Reporting:
• Prepare the regulatory Call Report and other regulatory filings as required
General Ledger Management & Month-End Close:
• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely entries and accruals
• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries
• Perform complex reconciliations of general ledger and bank accounts and resolve discrepancies
Operational Support:
• Manage accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely vendor payments
• Reconcile and manage fixed assets, finance leases, and operational leases
• Conduct accounting research and resolve issues
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes using technology and automation
• Write and maintain accounting procedures as required
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in banking, financial services, or fintech
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger functions, and month-end/year-end close processes
• Experience with financial reporting, analysis, and implementing accounting systems
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Sage Intacct, fintech platforms, and automation tools is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with regulatory reporting for financial institutions
• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems and data analytics tools
• Experience working in startups or high-growth environments
