Description:
A reputable organization in the UAE operating within the real estate and interior design sector is currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in financial management, project accounting, and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting functions, managing project-related financials, and ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle day-to-day accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Manage project accounting for real estate and interior design projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability to support business decisions
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage revenue recognition related to property sales, leasing, and contractual agreements
- Oversee cash flow management and financial forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with IFRS standards, VAT regulations, and local financial laws
- Coordinate with auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities during audits and reviews
- Manage VAT filings and ensure timely submission of tax obligations
- Develop and implement internal financial controls and policies
- Support budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic planning initiatives
- Supervise and guide junior accounting staff to ensure efficiency and accuracy
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are highly preferred
- 5 to 6+ years of relevant experience, preferably within real estate, interior design, or construction industries
- Strong understanding of project accounting principles and cost control methods
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems or accounting software
- In-depth knowledge of UAE/GCC VAT regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities
