Description:


Jawhara Jewellery is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its finance team at the head office in Gold Souq, Dubai. This role is ideal for a professional with strong accounting expertise, preferably within the jewellery industry, who can manage complex financial operations and ensure compliance with established standards and regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records in line with approved accounting standards
  • Prepare, manage, and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable on a timely basis
  • Record journal entries and post financial transactions to the general ledger
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and ensure alignment across group entities
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities and related financial reports
  • Coordinate the gold rate fixing process and handle all related documentation
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies proactively
  • Review source documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance
  • Coordinate with the Compliance Department to support Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in the jewellery industry is preferred
  • Strong background in financial supervision, accounting operations, and consolidated reporting
  • In-depth understanding of group accounting policies and procedures
  • Expertise in cost allocation, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions
  • Experience in implementing internal controls and safeguarding company assets
  • Ability to prepare tax returns and coordinate with auditors effectively

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in accounting and financial management, ideally in the jewellery sector
  • Strong exposure to IFRS compliance and consolidated financial reporting
  • Prior experience supervising accounting teams is an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems will be considered a plus
