We are seeking a Senior Accountant Consultant to join our accounting and finance client services team, offering comprehensive support throughout the accounting lifecycle for government contracting clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting / Finance Support for Government Contracting Clients:

  • Deliver end-to-end accounting support, including month-end close processes, reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Review and post journal entries and related documentation prepared by team members
  • Prepare and reconcile formal account reconciliations for month-end close
  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, lines of credit, resolving discrepancies efficiently
  • Lead month-end close for multiple engagements, ensuring accuracy of workpapers and close packs
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and DCAA regulations

Account Management:

  • Conduct regular client communications and lead internal and external status calls
  • Build strong client relationships by understanding business needs and anticipating challenges
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in client accounting processes
  • Collaborate with clients to implement best practices and streamline workflows
  • Maintain proactive communication with team members, clients, and leadership
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • 3+ years of experience in full life cycle accounting in a government contracting environment
  • Knowledge of FASB, GAAP, CAS, FAR, and DCAA compliance
  • Familiarity with multiple GovCon accounting systems; Unanet proficiency preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication, and project management skills
  • Initiative and resourcefulness to manage multiple assignments and deliverables efficiently
