Description:
Arabian Business Solutions is currently hiring an experienced Senior Accountant on behalf of one of its leading clients operating within the retail and hypermarket sector in the UAE. This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong hands-on accounting experience and a solid understanding of retail operations.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering accurate financial reporting to support business decision-making and operational performance.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing daily accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and cash management
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with UAE regulations and IFRS standards
• Handling UAE VAT filings, corporate tax compliance, and FTA audit requirements
• Coordinating with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities
• Monitoring receivables and payables to ensure timely collections and payments
• Preparing cash flow forecasts, MIS reports, and financial dashboards
• Ensuring adherence to accounting policies, SOPs, and internal best practices
• Supporting process improvements and implementation of financial controls
• Overseeing branch-level accounting and coordinating with multiple store locations
• Performing budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and retail product costing
• Conducting bank reconciliations, inter-company reconciliations, and internal control checks
• Supporting cost optimization initiatives, KPI reporting, and strategic planning
• Using ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms for daily financial operations
Job requirements include:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Professional certifications such as CMA, CA, or CPA are preferred
• Minimum of 4+ years of accounting experience in the UAE, preferably in retail or hypermarket environments
• Strong knowledge of product costing, financial analysis, and month-end and year-end closing
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is an advantage
• Solid understanding of UAE VAT, corporate tax regulations, and FTA compliance
• Experience in branch coordination, stock accounting, and retail operations
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• High proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
