Description:
Belvedere International School – Al Ain is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Social Worker to join its team. The successful candidate will provide non-therapeutic support to students and families facing social and personal challenges while promoting student wellbeing, safeguarding, and a positive school environment.
The role involves working closely with students, parents, school staff, and community resources to identify support needs and ensure students receive appropriate guidance and assistance. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, professional experience in youth-related social work, and a passion for supporting children’s development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide non-therapeutic social support to students and families dealing with challenging circumstances.
• Work closely with school leadership, teachers, parents, and external community resources to support student wellbeing.
• Identify student support needs and assist in developing appropriate intervention plans.
• Promote safeguarding practices and contribute to a safe and supportive school environment.
• Maintain professional records and documentation related to student support cases.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective student welfare services.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree (QFE Level 7) in Social Work/Social Service with minimum 2 years of experience in youth-related social work.
• OR Bachelor’s Degree (QFE Level 7) in Psychology, Counseling, Youth Development, Sociology, or a related field with minimum 4 years of experience in youth-related social work.
• DCD License is mandatory.
• Native Arabic speaker with proficient English language skills.
• Must meet ADEK eligibility requirements.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and student support skills.
• Passionate about improving student wellbeing and making a positive impact.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Student welfare, safeguarding, and youth support practices.
• Social work principles and family support services.
• School-based social services and community coordination.
