About the Role:
Next Generation School is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and committed School Counselor to support our early years students. In this role you will act as an advocate for pupils’ wellbeing, help them navigate emotional and social challenges, and support their academic development by listening, advising, and coordinating care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Listen to students’ concerns and provide a safe space for them to express academic, emotional, or social issues.
- Help students process problems and work with them to set realistic goals and action plans.
- Mediate conflicts involving students and teachers when needed, promoting constructive resolution.
- Strengthen parent–teacher relationships by facilitating clear communication and helping families understand student needs.
- Support transitions such as college applications, job guidance, or scholarship information (where applicable).
- Organize and run peer-counseling or mentorship programs to promote positive student interactions.
- Refer students to external psychologists or mental health professionals when specialized support is required.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to identify and implement improvements to the school’s learning environment and student wellbeing initiatives.
Candidate Profile:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Experience: Minimum two years’ experience working as a social worker or school counselor within a UAE school setting.
- Languages: Proficient in English and Arabic.
- Skills: Strong listening, interpersonal and communication skills, empathy, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
