Macmillan is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Sales Assistant to provide administrative support to its eBook trade sales team in New York. This role is ideal for a professional with strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and an interest in publishing, digital sales, and customer relationships.
The successful candidate will support sales operations, coordinate meetings and presentations, manage promotional activities, and assist with account-related tasks. This position offers an opportunity to work with a leading global publishing company while developing valuable experience in digital publishing sales.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support to the eBook trade sales team.
• Assist with communication and coordination with eBook accounts.
• Participate in sales and marketing meetings, account calls, and quarterly title presentations.
• Prepare meeting agendas and organize sales-related materials.
• Monitor scheduled eBook price promotions and ensure timely updates.
• Create monthly email communications, publishing alerts, and sales memos.
• Support the Amazon sales team with Kindle-related coordination activities.
• Prepare customer-facing title presentations using presentation tools.
Requirements:
• College Degree or equivalent qualification.
• 1–3 years of experience in publishing and/or sales is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and relationship management abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
• Process-oriented mindset with the ability to improve workflows and maintain accuracy.
• Basic analytical skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and calculations.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Google Slides.
• Ability to create professional title presentations for customers.
• Understanding of AI tools and digital technologies.
