📢 Hiring — Safety Officer
RFM Global is looking for a vigilant and hands-on Safety Officer to join its facilities management team in the UAE. The successful candidate will help create and maintain a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors by implementing safety systems, carrying out inspections, delivering training, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Operations Manager in developing and rolling out safety policies and procedures that meet UAE regulations and international standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to spot hazards and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Carry out and update risk assessments, ensuring control measures are effective and current.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, prepare clear incident reports, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
- Design and deliver safety briefings and training programs for technicians, staff, and contractors.
- Ensure all safety equipment (fire extinguishers, PPE, alarms, emergency exits) is routinely inspected and maintained.
- Plan and run emergency response drills such as fire and evacuation exercises.
- Keep accurate records including inspection logs, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and ensure timely closure of any findings.
- Advise operations teams on ergonomics, safe equipment use, and safe work procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Safety certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA is highly preferred.
- 2–3 years of hands-on safety experience, ideally within Facilities Management or similar operational settings.
Skills & Competencies:
- Solid understanding of UAE health & safety legislation and international best practices.
- Strong presentation and training delivery skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with a risk assessment mindset.
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with safety management software is advantageous.
Working Conditions:
- Based on-site at client facilities across the UAE.
- Frequent site walks and inspections, occasionally in challenging or noisy environments.
- May require flexibility for evening/weekend audits or emergency response duties.
