We’re Hiring | Risk Analyst

The Mom Project is seeking a highly skilled Risk Analyst to join a contract-based, fully remote role supporting our customer’s business operations. Our client’s mission is to empower people to build community and bring the world closer together through their family of apps and services. This role focuses on conducting risk assessments, tracking mitigation progress, and delivering actionable insights to enhance enterprise risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute comprehensive enterprise and independent risk assessments, including identification, analysis, documentation, and mitigation planning
• Review action plans, validate mitigation evidence, and track risk remediation progress
• Maintain and update key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Develop qualitative and quantitative risk methodologies, including scoring and aggregation approaches
• Prepare risk reports using visual presentations, dashboards, and slide decks
• Conduct assessments across financial, operational, compliance, and strategic risk domains
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product teams, to ensure alignment with business objectives
• Drive project planning, follow-ups, and ensure timely execution of risk-related tasks with minimal supervision
• Complete risk assessment reports with findings and recommended mitigation strategies
• Provide training and support for stakeholders on risk assessment methodologies and frameworks
• Maintain risk assessment documentation, procedures, and methodology artifacts

Skills and Qualifications:

• 6-7+ years of experience in risk assessment or risk management roles
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and frameworks
• Hands-on experience performing enterprise or independent risk assessments
• Proficient in documenting risks, reviewing action plans, and tracking mitigation efforts
• Ability to work independently and proactively identify tasks
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
• Experience preparing risk reports, visualizations, and presentations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities
• Demonstrated ownership and timely closure of open items

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in fintech or technology-driven risk management
• Understanding of product development lifecycles, particularly in payments
• Experience in payments or financial services industries
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and technical risk areas, including AI, ChatGPT, Model Risk Management, and NIST AI Risk Management Framework
