Description:
Life360, a category-leading mobile app and tracking device company serving over 91 million monthly active users globally, is seeking a skilled Revenue Manager to join its finance and accounting team. This role is remote-first, allowing employees to work from anywhere in the US or Canada, and provides the opportunity to make a significant impact on revenue operations, accounting processes, and financial reporting for a publicly traded company.
The Revenue Manager will oversee the full revenue cycle, managing complex multiple-element revenue arrangements across subscription services, hardware, and advertising revenue streams. The role emphasizes accuracy in revenue recognition under US GAAP (ASC 606), process improvement, and automation to enhance scalability and efficiency.
This position partners closely with cross-functional teams including sales, product, and operations, providing guidance on revenue-related matters, ensuring compliance, and supporting financial decision-making. The role also includes SOX compliance, monthly close processes, internal controls, and audit coordination.
Key Responsibilities
• Execute timely and accurate revenue close processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Perform revenue recognition assessments for complex contracts, applying ASC 606 guidance for performance obligations, variable consideration, contract modifications, and principal vs. agent considerations.
• Act as a technical resource on revenue matters for cross-functional teams.
• Prepare revenue analyses, KPIs, and metrics to support management decisions, identify trends, and resolve discrepancies.
• Design, implement, and maintain internal controls in compliance with SOX and public company reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors for quarterly and year-end audits.
• Lead process creation and system implementation for new products to ensure scalable revenue operations.
• Document revenue policies and processes, develop cross-functional guidance, and identify opportunities to improve controls and efficiency.
• Manage multiple cross-functional projects with strong project management and multitasking skills.
• Enhance systematic processes, explore automation solutions, and implement AI-driven tools to support business growth.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant field; MBA/Master’s a plus.
• CPA certification or active pursuit preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue recognition.
• Experience in a public company environment, including SOX compliance and SEC reporting.
• Strong knowledge and application of ASC 606.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload, work in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple tasks.
• Detail-oriented and collaborative, with the ability to build cross-functional relationships.
