Role Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Associate I is responsible for researching, validating, and processing adjustments and refunds in compliance with company policies. This entry-level position provides a strong foundation in accounts receivable and cash applications while working under close to moderate supervision.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Resolution Processing (60%):
- Research and process refunds according to management policies.
- Maintain an audit schedule to ensure compliance with adjustment and refund procedures.
- Process and update adjustments and refunds promptly per product workflow.
- Report overpayments identified by audits and distribute refund checks on time.
- Understand cash applications, billing, and accounts receivable processes.
- Complete monthly and quarterly reporting as assigned.
- Perform special projects and other duties assigned by management.
Problem Solving (30%):
- Assist Financial Operations and Sales with research, problem resolution, and reporting on payor adjustments and refunds.
- Consolidate and correct misapplied funds and ensure accurate application of new receipts.
- Demonstrate problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and work effectively under deadlines.
Engage Others (10%):
- Provide internal and external auditors with documentation as requested.
- Communicate audit results, trends, and resolutions effectively.
- Support Financial Operations by researching issues arising from refund requests.
- Communicate professionally with colleagues and clients.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word; basic skills in Windows applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while aligning with company DEIB standards.
- Demonstrate company values in daily work.
Work Environment & Physical/Mental Demands:
- Fully remote role; set up of home office equipment required.
- Primarily sedentary work involving computer use and repetitive motions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain focus, and meet productivity requirements under moderate to significant mental stress.
