iMentor is seeking a Research Associate to join the Organizational Learning and Impact (OLI) team. Reporting directly to the Senior Data Analyst, this role will be instrumental in collecting, organizing, analyzing, and translating data to support fundraising, program implementation, and organizational learning. This position is fully remote and open to candidates located anywhere within the United States.

Data Requests & Reporting (50%)

• Manage and respond to incoming data requests submitted through the OLI ticketing system.
• Extract, clean, and deliver data from multiple sources, including PostgreSQL databases, survey tools, and internal dashboards.
• Prepare clear and accessible outputs for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to clarify data needs, share insights, and promote consistent use of organizational metrics.

Reusable Data Products (20%)

• Support the development of dashboards and reports in Power BI to track program performance and outcomes.
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback throughout the dashboard development and review process.
• Maintain assigned Power BI dashboards and assist internal teams in effectively using these tools.

Data Systems & Automation (15%)

• Write, maintain, and improve scripts and queries that automate data cleaning and manipulation processes.
• Document workflows and procedures to ensure sustainability and reproducibility.
• Partner closely with the Data Modeling and Integration Lead to maintain high-quality data products.

Organizational Research (15%)

• Assist in designing and executing research studies that deepen understanding of iMentor’s impact and reach.
• Contribute to research initiatives focused on program effectiveness, including factors that strengthen mentoring relationships.
• Support data collection, cleaning, analysis, and reporting for organizational research projects.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience working with large quantitative datasets, preferably in education or nonprofit environments.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Proficiency in R or similar statistical programming languages and Excel for analysis and workflow automation.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL) for querying, joining, and cleaning data.
• Experience using Power BI or comparable business intelligence tools for dashboards and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple data requests, meet deadlines, and maintain high accuracy.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
