Description:
Goldbelt C6, LLC is seeking a skilled Reports Assistant to support the U.S. Department of State’s Office of International Religious Freedom (IRF). This role involves administrative, research, and editing tasks to help produce annual reports detailing religious freedom conditions worldwide. The ideal candidate will have strong research and analytical skills, experience in human rights monitoring, and the ability to work collaboratively with both domestic and international stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit IRF draft reports submitted by U.S. embassies and consulates for accuracy, clarity, and consistency
- Collaborate with senior editors, overseas posts, and Department officers to ensure reports reflect IRF priorities
- Conduct detailed research to supplement and verify information, expanding the comprehensiveness of reports
- Liaise with embassies, country desks, and other bureaus to negotiate content and protect IRF equities
- Track and monitor information on religious freedom violations, maintaining the IRF database
- Coordinate with NGOs and religious organizations to expand sources of information
- Oversee report management processes, ensuring deadlines are met and follow-up systems are in place
- Assist the Report Coordinator with administrative tasks, personnel issues, and inter-office communications
- Respond to special requests from IRF leadership and other Department offices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong editing, writing, organizational, research, and analytical abilities
- Experience in monitoring and promoting human rights, including religious freedom
- Knowledge of foreign policy concepts and practices
- Ability to interact effectively with embassy officers, Department staff, and NGO representatives
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations or related field
- 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Willingness to travel as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current active Secret clearance
- Prior experience working with the U.S. Department of State
