Description:
CareDx, Inc., a leading precision medicine solutions company dedicated to improving outcomes for transplant patients, is seeking a Reimbursement Specialist to join its growing team. This role is focused on maximizing reimbursement by managing outstanding balances from insurance companies, following up on unresolved claims, and escalating appeals when needed. The specialist will collaborate closely with the Payer Dispute Resolution and Market Access teams to ensure coverage and appropriate reimbursement from both contracted and non-contracted payers, as well as government health plans.
Responsibilities:
- Claim Follow-up:
• Resolve aged claims and appeals via payer portals and outbound phone calls.
• Identify claims requiring first, second, or third-level appeals.
• Assist teammates with projects and denial work queue management. - Denials and Appeals:
• Prioritize assigned work queues to balance timely processing with high-value claims.
• Investigate non-payment trends and escalate issues to Payer Dispute Resolution or Market Access teams.
• Collaborate with the Denials Management Steering Committee to propose solutions and improve upstream processes.
• Work with patients when their assistance is required in appeals.
• Maintain professionalism and responsiveness with Revenue Cycle team members.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree may substitute for medical billing experience.
- 3–5 years of medical billing experience (molecular laboratory billing preferred).
- Knowledge of health insurance, terminology, and HIPAA compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Details:
- Full-time role, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime.
- Remote candidates must reside within the US; in-office presence may be required for candidates near Brisbane, California.
