Description:
Cleveland Clinic is seeking a dedicated Reimbursement Specialist to join its team remotely. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about healthcare and committed to ensuring compliance in coding, billing, and reimbursement processes while supporting departmental efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accountability for all services performed and compliance with billing and internal standards
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in business office functions and operations
- Manage patient accounts receivable and conduct denial analysis
- Monitor departmental accounts receivable to maintain financial stability and achieve appropriate reimbursement percentages
- Analyze accounts receivable to identify payment inequities
- Collaborate with CCF contract management to resolve payment issues
- Conduct revenue-reporting analysis related to procedures and recommend fee modifications
- Maintain departmental charge master files and review professional and technical charges per compliance guidelines
- Support departmental expansion, practice startups, new service lines, and affiliate programs to capture appropriate revenue
- Conduct finance accounting, map revenue for billable services, and perform research analysis including IDE compliance and billing follow-up
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications (spreadsheets and word processing)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist Physician (CCS-P), Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) preferred
- Extensive experience in CPT/ICD 9 CM coding, medical billing, and reimbursement
- Understanding of third-party and government payer regulations
- Experience providing education and trend analysis related to revenue and reimbursement
Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment
- Ability to lift and transport up to 15 pounds
- May require extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting
- Good visual acuity, with normal or corrected vision
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Adheres to Standard Precautions using PPE as required for procedures
