Needham & Company is seeking a Part-Time Registered Supervisory Analyst to join their equity research team. This role requires approximately 15 hours per week, typically from 5am to 8am, Monday through Friday, and is ideal for experienced professionals with a strong background in equity research and regulatory compliance.

The primary responsibility of the Supervisory Analyst is to review and approve research reports prepared by senior analysts, ensuring adherence to FINRA and SEC regulations, internal policies, and the accuracy of all data and conclusions. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to assess the methodology, logic, and financial models behind analysts’ recommendations and price targets.

The candidate will also be responsible for editing initiation and industry reports as needed, checking writing style and presentation quality, and supporting the daily publication of research notes and morning summaries prior to the 7am research meeting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve research reports produced by senior analysts, ensuring regulatory and internal compliance
  • Verify adherence to FINRA and SEC regulations, including proper disclosures and conflict of interest identification
  • Assess valuation models, price targets, and overall analytical logic behind reports
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial data, including calculations and source citations
  • Review and refine the writing style and clarity of research reports
  • Edit initiation and industry reports as necessary
  • Communicate regularly with senior analysts to understand research methodologies and add value
  • Publish research notes and morning summaries before scheduled research meetings
