Starwood Industries LLC is currently looking for a meticulous and commercially aware Quantity Surveyor (Joinery) to strengthen its interior fit-out and joinery operations in the UAE. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who are confident in interpreting technical drawings and converting them into accurate and competitive cost estimates for high-end bespoke projects.
The selected candidate will play a vital role in the tendering and estimation process, ensuring all material take-offs, cost calculations, and commercial submissions align with project specifications and UAE market standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze architectural and technical drawings to carry out detailed quantity take-offs specifically for joinery works.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including labor costs, material pricing, subcontractor charges, and overhead allocations.
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and evaluate prevailing market rates.
- Develop structured Bill of Quantities (BOQ) documents and compile technical as well as commercial tender submissions.
- Monitor fluctuations in joinery materials, finishes, and production costs to maintain pricing accuracy.
- Assist in tender negotiations and coordinate smooth project transitions to production and site execution teams.
Candidate Requirements:
- 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in joinery estimation or quantity surveying within the UAE market.
- Strong technical command of AutoCAD, MS Excel, and relevant estimation software tools.
- Solid knowledge of joinery materials, fabrication methods, and finishing techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Quantity Surveying.
- Excellent analytical skills, cost planning expertise, vendor coordination ability, and high attention to documentation accuracy.
