Description:
We are currently looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our team in Abu Dhabi with an immediate start. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can support daily procurement operations and coordinate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers in a construction-focused environment.
The successful candidate will provide hands-on assistance across procurement activities, ensure accuracy in documentation, and help maintain smooth purchasing workflows. Familiarity with construction materials—particularly waterproofing products—will be considered a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide proactive day-to-day support across all procurement and purchasing activities
• Coordinate material requirements with Technical, Sales, and Operations teams, ensuring correct quantities, approvals, and documentation
• Issue Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) for:
– Project-related materials, including waterproofing products
– Office supplies and consumables
– Certificates, subcontract works, repairs, and associated services
• Review Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and manage accurate unit conversions
• Monitor shipments and liaise with freight forwarders to ensure on-time delivery
• Prepare, submit, and follow up on supplier credit applications to secure suitable payment terms
• Source supplier quotations, prepare comparisons, and negotiate pricing while maintaining quality standards
• Maintain well-organized records of LPOs, quotations, invoices, and all procurement documentation
• Coordinate with the Accounts team on payment terms and follow up on supplier Statements of Account (SOAs)
• Create, update, and manage item codes within the SAP system
Skills & Requirements:
• Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and professional email correspondence
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to follow up consistently, manage logistics, and maintain supplier relationships
• Knowledge of construction materials and waterproofing supplies is a plus
