Description:
A leading organization in the Marine Engineering sector is seeking an experienced Purchase Manager to join its team in Dubai. This role is suitable for procurement professionals with strong experience in marine, shipbuilding, ship repair, or engineering-related industries.
The successful candidate will manage strategic procurement activities, supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and sourcing of engineering materials while ensuring cost efficiency and timely delivery. Candidates with strong engineering procurement experience from Construction or EPC backgrounds may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage overall procurement activities, including sourcing, supplier selection, negotiations, and purchase planning.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international vendors.
• Oversee vendor management, store management, and procurement processes for engineering materials.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, delivery terms, and commercial agreements with suppliers.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely availability of required materials.
• Monitor procurement performance and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
• 8–12 years of procurement experience with at least 3 years in a managerial position.
• Mandatory experience in Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, or Marine Engineering companies.
• Candidates from Construction/EPC backgrounds with strong engineering procurement experience may also be considered.
• Experience with vendor management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and store management.
• GCC experience will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Marine engineering procurement and sourcing of technical materials.
• Supplier management, contract negotiation, and procurement strategies.
• ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Focus ERP.
