Description:
Multiplier is seeking a skilled and purpose-driven Program Finance Officer (PFO) to join their team remotely. The PFO will play a critical role in managing the financial stewardship of a diverse portfolio of projects focused on global impact across conservation, public health, education, economic development, clean energy, and social equity initiatives. This position provides financial guidance, reporting, and strategic support to project teams while contributing to organizational leadership and policy development.
Primary Responsibilities:
Financial Advisement & Capacity Building
- Serve as a trusted financial partner supporting decision-making and resource allocation.
- Provide guidance tailored to project lifecycles, priorities, and financial health.
- Strengthen project team capabilities in budgeting, cash flow planning, and financial reporting.
Financial Oversight & Reporting
- Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial reports for multiple projects.
- Meet regularly with project leadership to review financial performance and address concerns.
- Track spending patterns and budget-to-actual variances.
- Develop financial models, forecasts, and multi-year growth plans.
- Identify cash flow concerns and implement resolution strategies.
Revenue Strategy & Stewardship
- Review budgets for grant proposals and advise on pricing for fee-for-service contracts.
- Manage restricted awards and ensure timely, accurate submission of grant-related reports.
- Handle award budget revisions and term extensions as needed.
Shared Leadership & Collaboration
- Promote a culture of collaboration and cross-team support.
- Partner with finance, accounting, contracts, grants, and project teams.
- Support systems upgrades and implement efficiency-focused initiatives.
- Lead financial aspects of project onboarding and offboarding.
- Assist new projects and directors in navigating internal systems and structures.
Ideal Candidate:
- Driven by purpose with strong financial and analytical skills.
- Experienced in nonprofit finance, capable of handling complex statements and reporting.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and able to navigate ambiguity while supporting project leaders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Spanish fluency is a plus.
Specific Experience Requested:
- Nonprofit financial planning, reporting, and restricted fund management.
- Knowledge of nonprofit GAAP and earned income revenue models.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and visualization.
- Experience with fund accounting systems and data entry/reporting.
- Ability to manage high-priority tasks with flexibility and professionalism.
