We’re Hiring! Procurement Engineer

DOGUS – GCC JV is currently seeking a highly experienced Procurement Engineer (Civil) to join our project team for the Abu Dhabi MI1A – Mid Island Parkway Project (Phase 1A – Infrastructure & Road Works). This role is ideal for professionals who have strong expertise in procurement operations and material submittal coordination within large-scale infrastructure projects. Immediate availability will be considered a strong advantage.

Role Overview:
As a Procurement Engineer, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities while overseeing the complete material submittal process. You will work in close coordination with internal teams, consultants, and suppliers to ensure materials are approved, procured, and delivered in line with project timelines and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, vendor evaluation, commercial negotiations, and issuance of purchase orders.
• Lead and manage the material submittal process from preparation through consultant and client approvals.
• Coordinate closely with Quality, Engineering, and Site teams to align material approvals with construction schedules.
• Ensure all materials meet project specifications, contract requirements, and applicable UAE/GCC standards.
• Liaise with suppliers and consultants to address technical clarifications and approval-related challenges.
• Maintain accurate procurement and material submittal records within SAP systems.
• Support project execution by ensuring timely delivery of approved materials to site.
• Build, manage, and sustain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 8 years of experience in infrastructure, roadworks, utilities, or bridge construction projects.
• Proven hands-on project experience within Abu Dhabi or across the UAE.
• Demonstrated expertise in both procurement management and material submittals.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction and infrastructure-related materials.
• Proficiency in SAP systems for procurement and documentation.
• Excellent negotiation, coordination, and vendor management skills.
• Solid understanding of UAE and GCC procurement procedures and industry practices.
• Strong organizational abilities with a collaborative and structured working approach.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Profile:
Candidates who have successfully handled procurement and material submittals on large-scale infrastructure projects, and who can efficiently coordinate between consultants, suppliers, and internal teams, will be highly preferred for this role.
