Description:
Amerita, Inc., a leading provider in home infusion therapy and a subsidiary of PharMerica, is seeking a Prior Authorization Specialist to join their team. This role involves managing the initiation, clinical review, submission, and follow-up of prior authorizations for medications and supplies, ensuring adherence to payer requirements and clinical guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Initiate, process, and oversee clinical review of prior authorization requests for medications and supplies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to collect necessary clinical documentation.
• Submit prior authorization requests accurately and timely through electronic submission platforms following established protocols.
• Perform all functions related to prior authorizations efficiently and in compliance with policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
• High School Diploma or GED, or licensed/registered pharmacy technician, or prior pharmacy experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in pharmacy.
• Solid knowledge of pharmacy terminology including sig codes, Roman numerals, and brand/generic medication names.
• Basic math, analytical skills, and intermediate typing/keyboard skills.
• Familiarity with pharmacy and healthcare-related processes.
