Description:
BPM is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to join its Finance team and support payroll operations across multiple regions, including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. This role is ideal for a payroll professional who has experience managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance, and maintaining accurate employee records.
The successful candidate will assist with payroll processing, tax compliance activities, reporting, and employee payroll support while collaborating with Senior Payroll Specialists and cross-functional teams. This position offers an opportunity to develop payroll expertise and contribute to a collaborative and growth-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support semi-monthly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll processing by reviewing, validating, and reconciling payroll information.
• Assist with payroll administration across the U.S., Canada, and the UK while ensuring compliance with local regulations.
• Support payroll tax activities, including research, reconciliation, reporting, and issue resolution.
• Prepare and analyze recurring and ad hoc payroll reports for internal stakeholders.
• Identify payroll discrepancies and investigate issues to ensure accurate processing.
• Process overtime, bonuses, and other employee earnings according to company policies and regulations.
• Audit payroll data and resolve employee payroll concerns in a timely manner.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters.
• Collaborate with Senior Payroll Specialists on complex payroll activities and process improvements.
• Partner with Human Resources, Benefits, and other departments on payroll-related initiatives.
• Assist with payroll system maintenance, testing, audits, and special projects.
Requirements:
• 2–5 years of payroll experience within a corporate environment.
• Experience supporting payroll for a multi-state U.S. employee population.
• Knowledge of payroll taxes, compliance requirements, and payroll administration.
• Experience handling U.S., Canadian, and UK payroll processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP functions.
• Experience with UKG Pro or similar payroll systems is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with AI tools or technology solutions to improve payroll processes is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and payroll concepts.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of:
