Description:
Mayo Clinic, a globally recognized healthcare provider with top-ranked specialties, is seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join their team remotely. This position is 100% remote and can be based anywhere in the U.S. The Payroll Specialist will manage bi-weekly payroll processes, off-cycle payments, garnishments, payroll audits, and employee inquiries to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering on-cycle and off-cycle payroll, including audits, reports, and special payment entries
  • Managing payroll garnishments and levies, including setting up garnishments, responding to notices, completing disclosures, and coordinating with creditors
  • Providing payroll support to employees, answering questions, and resolving payroll-related issues
  • Collaborating with payroll, HR, and finance teams to maintain accurate payroll records and compliance

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Associate Degree or HS/GED with 2+ years of experience in payroll, benefits, tax, or accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service orientation and ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Report writing experience preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus

Work schedule and details:

  • Full Time, 80 hours per pay period
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST
  • Nonexempt position
  • Benefits eligible, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and pre-tax savings options
