We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage accurate and timely payroll processing across the United States, Canada, and Australia. This position is critical in ensuring compliance with labor laws and tax regulations, maintaining accurate employee records, and delivering seamless payroll services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process payroll for U.S., Canada, and Australia subsidiaries on a semi-monthly and bi-weekly basis using BambooHR Payroll, Nethris, and Xero.
• Ensure accuracy in wage calculations, overtime, deductions, direct deposits, and off-cycle commission runs.
• Oversee state payroll tax compliance, maintain account access, resolve discrepancies, and lead tax audits.
• Accurately onboard new hires into payroll systems and maintain precise employee data.
• Manage terminations by processing final payments, PTO payouts, and notifying People Operations.
• Keep detailed payroll records, tracking job changes, pay rate adjustments, and tax details.
• Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and maintain all required accounts.
• Review international and domestic timesheets for accuracy and legal compliance.
• Coordinate benefit-related payroll deductions including insurance, retirement plans, HSA/FSA, superannuation, garnishments, and 401(k).
• Provide payroll reports for management, assist Finance with GL entries, and support audits.
• Respond promptly to employee payroll and HRIS inquiries.
• Handle superannuation filings, IAS submissions, and payroll tax reporting in Australia.
• Prepare Canada ROEs for terminated or unpaid leave employees.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Payroll Administration or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 1–3 years’ payroll or payroll tax experience preferred.
• Knowledge of U.S. and international payroll tax laws.
• Proficiency with BambooHR, Xero, and Nethris is advantageous.
• Experience with Canada ROE requirements and Australian superannuation and tax.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and data accuracy.
• Excellent communication, customer service skills, and discretion with sensitive information.
• Understanding of payroll impacts on general ledger accounting.
