Position Overview:
Join Sutter Health’s S3 — Sutter Shared Services — Valley team as a Payroll Processor II. This full-time role is eligible for work-from-home within California and Utah only. You will be responsible for reviewing and auditing approved timekeeping records and expense reimbursement requests, entering manual payroll adjustments, calculating retroactive pay and other corrections, and preparing accurate final payments for employees who are leaving the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and audit submitted timekeeping and expense reimbursement requests for accuracy and compliance.
- Process manual entries and adjustments in the payroll system as needed.
- Calculate and apply retroactive and other pay adjustments to ensure correct payroll outcomes.
- Prepare timely final pay for separating employees and ensure all required documentation/recordkeeping is completed.
- Follow payroll policies and applicable wage-and-hour regulations to maintain compliance.
Education:
- HS Diploma or GED.
Typical Experience:
- Minimum ~1 year of recent, relevant payroll or related experience.
Skills And Knowledge:
- Familiarity with payroll cycle and core payroll processes.
- Understanding of payroll laws and wage-and-hour regulations applicable to assigned locations.
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies, procedures, and union bargaining agreements (if applicable).
- Quick learner with capability to absorb new processes and concepts.
- Comfortable with basic mathematical computations including percentages, decimals, and prorations.
- Strong critical thinking to identify, research, and resolve questionable payroll data.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work to meet strict deadlines.
- Customer-service orientation and ability to build effective working relationships.
- Capacity to handle confidential information discreetly and work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
