Position Overview
This position allows eligible candidates to work from home within California. The Payroll Processor II is responsible for reviewing, auditing, and processing approved timekeeping records and expense reimbursement requests. This includes making manual entries and adjustments, calculating and processing retroactive pay or other adjustments, and preparing final payments for individuals leaving the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, audit, and process approved timekeeping and expense records.
  • Perform manual entries and adjustments, including retroactive pay calculations.
  • Prepare timely and accurate final payments for departing employees.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Apply critical thinking to identify, research, and resolve questionable data.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information.
  • Prioritize workload to meet strict timelines and ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Foster effective working relationships and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing business priorities.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of payroll cycles, laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, union agreements, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Strong mathematical skills including percentages, decimals, and prorated amounts.
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and work independently.

Job Shift and Schedule

  • Shift: Days
  • Hours: 8 per day, Monday to Friday
  • Weekend Requirements: As Needed
  • Weekly Hours: 40
  • Employee Status: Regular
  • Position Status: Non-Exempt
