The organization is currently seeking a Payroll & Benefits Coordinator to support and strengthen its expanding people operations function. As the company continues to scale, this role plays a critical part in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and a smooth employee experience across multiple regions.

You will work closely with senior payroll and benefits professionals to handle daily operations, support global payroll cycles, and maintain accurate employee records. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage sensitive data with discretion.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in end-to-end payroll processing across multiple U.S. states and international locations using Remote payroll systems
• Review and verify timekeeping data including working hours, PTO balances, and attendance records before payroll execution
• Process payroll updates such as new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, and corrections
• Manage employee benefits administration including health, dental, vision, retirement plans (401k), and enrollment changes
• Support contractor management including agreements (SOWs), onboarding processes, and invoice coordination
• Oversee offboarding procedures, ensuring proper system updates and benefits terminations in coordination with internal teams
• Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
• Assist in improving internal documentation and optimizing payroll and HR workflows

Required Qualifications:
• 4+ years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, or HR operations
• Strong understanding of payroll fundamentals including taxation, deductions, and compliance principles
• Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems, including exposure to international payroll processes
• Advanced Excel or spreadsheet skills (lookups, formulas, data validation, etc.)
• High attention to detail with strong accuracy in data handling
• Ability to manage recurring deadlines and sensitive employee information with discretion
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with experience in asynchronous collaboration environments

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in remote-first or globally distributed organizations
• Familiarity with multi-state payroll regulations within the United States
• Understanding of benefits compliance frameworks such as ACA and COBRA
