This Opportunity
- Lead the payroll cycle—run weekly payroll processing, including timecard approvals, benefit and deduction updates, and seamless payment execution in Workday.
- Serve as the go-to expert for payroll audits—leading documentation, system testing, and compliance support with confidence and precision.
- Own the numbers—gather critical payroll data, calculate wages, determine deductions and contributions, and generate reports that drive business decisions
- Support financial accuracy—prepare journal entries and perform general ledger reconciliations to keep our books balanced and audit-ready
- Impact end-of-year success—handle year-end reporting, benefit census submissions, and accrual tracking with meticulous attention to detail
- Be a problem solver and compliance guardian—research evolving payroll laws, test system updates, and ensure our processes stay ahead of the curve
- Champion innovation—explore and implement new features in our timekeeping system to streamline operations and enhance the employee experience
Essential Qualifications
- A two (2)- or four (4)-year degree in accounting or a related field—paired with real-world know-how
- Five (5) + years of hands-on payroll processing experience—you know the ins and outs of getting people paid accurately and on time.
- Two (2) + years of experience working in Workday Payroll, with confidence navigating its tools and features.
- Experience processing multi-state payroll, understanding the nuances of tax rules and compliance across different regions
- A solid foundation in accounting, with two (2) + years handling journal entries and general ledger reconciliation
- Demonstrated top-notch organizational, communication, and documentation skills—you keep things on track and clear for everyone
- A helpful, people-first attitude and strong interpersonal skills—you’re approachable, responsive, and team-focused.
- A self-starter mindset—you take initiative to dig in, seek information, solve problems, and stay productive without needing a lot of oversight
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
- ESOP experience.
