Position Overview:
The Payment Recovery Specialist is responsible for overseeing denials management and identifying underpayments by payers. This includes conducting detailed root-cause analyses, handling escalated denials, and collaborating with the billing team to develop denials management training and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform root-cause analysis on denials to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret complex data to develop effective workflows.
• Collaborate on appeals, follow up with payors, and assist with required documentation such as medical necessity letters.
• Resolve payment discrepancies by referencing contract matrices and ensuring compliance with reimbursement terms.
• Communicate with internal and external customers to answer questions, take payments, and resolve issues.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED (Associate Degree preferred).
• At least 3 years of healthcare clerical experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
