The Payment Posting Specialist II plays a vital role in maintaining an accurate and efficient revenue cycle, supporting UTHealth’s mission of delivering outstanding patient care. This position involves posting electronic and manual payments to patient accounts, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring adherence to internal and payer-specific standards. Accuracy and timely processing are essential to maintain cash flow, reporting integrity, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately post all assigned manual and electronic payments to patient accounts.
- Resolve edits and report issues promptly and accurately.
- Process zero-dollar Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) as assigned.
- Reconcile payments daily before the end of each shift.
- Process and post credit card payments.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as required.
Certification/Skills:
- Knowledge of insurance benefits and medical terminology is a plus.
- Comfortable interacting with colleagues in an office environment.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, phone, and computer skills.
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma/GED
Minimum Experience:
- 2 years of experience in revenue cycle processes (can be substituted with equivalent years of education beyond minimum requirement).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive:
- Position is security-sensitive under Texas Education Code 51.215 and Texas Government Code 411.094. Applicants must be able to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure as defined by Texas law.
Residency Requirement:
