Overview:
Confluent Health is seeking a detail-focused Payment Poster to join our remote billing team. The role is responsible for preparing and posting claims, resolving billing issues, and working to minimize denials so claims flow cleanly from the EMR to payers. This is a remote position supporting timely revenue collection and excellent internal and patient-facing customer service.

Essential Functions:

  • Claims preparation & correction: prepare and correct claims so they pass cleanly from the EMR to the clearinghouse.
  • Posting & completion: post charges and complete claims submissions to payers in a timely manner.
  • Denial & rejection resolution: correct billing edits and clearinghouse rejections to resolve patient accounts.
  • Portal management: navigate payer portals to submit claims for adjudication and follow up as needed.
  • Third-party invoicing & enrollments: prepare invoices for third-party payers and enrollments for clearinghouse submissions.
  • Trend analysis: identify patterns and root causes to reduce claim denials and improve collections.
  • Team collaboration & service: communicate clearly with assigned staff, provide excellent service to team members and patients, and support productivity goals.
  • Deadline management: consistently meet important deadlines, particularly during end-of-month closings.
  • Continuous learning: participate in ongoing education related to billing duties and process improvements.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of medical billing experience.
  • Technical skills: strong computer proficiency with Windows-based systems; experience with EMR/clearinghouse workflows preferred.
  • Compliance: ability to protect patient PHI and handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Attributes: excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks independently, and strong communication skills.
  • Preferred: prior work in a medical office setting.
