Position Summary:
The Inbound Patient Account Services Specialist is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, resolving patient billing questions, and identifying trends to report to leadership. This position requires empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex or emotional patient interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of specialty processes and the patient journey from order to reimbursement.
  • Assist patients in navigating billing and reimbursement procedures for efficient and timely service.
  • Build trusting relationships through meaningful and relevant patient engagement.
  • Manage difficult situations with prompt, empathetic responses and a sense of urgency.
  • Document each patient interaction accurately in the appropriate Revenue Cycle system.
  • Review and follow up on patient concerns, gathering necessary information for resolution.
  • Determine patient eligibility for payment plans and support financial counseling.
  • Meet call center metrics, including call volume and call quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments using technology to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain a professional, enthusiastic, and caring presence over the phone.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6 months of experience in healthcare billing, reimbursement, collections, or infusion services.
  • Proficiency with computers and 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Capacity to provide emotional support and demonstrate empathy.
  • Flexibility with scheduling, including 8-hour shifts between 8:00 am – 8:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in healthcare billing, collections, or infusion services.
  • 1 year of experience in pharmacy billing and reimbursement.

Education:

  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED required
