Job Description
The Online Program Coordinator serves as the point person within Mizzou Online to provide support to academic units to develop, launch and maintain online programs and courses. Collaborates with multiple stakeholders across the UM System to ensure online program processes are integrated into university planning. Emphasis is on planning, logistics and organization. This position is a liaison between Mizzou Online and academic units with University of Missouri – Columbia.
This is a remote opportunity with an estimated requirement for travel for up to 5%. The Online Program Coordinator will need to live within a 175 mile radius of Columbia, MO. Travel to the University of Missouri – Columbia is expected.

Key Responsibilities
- Establish, maintain and enhance collaborative relationships with department chairs, division directors, program directors, fiscal representatives and support staff across Mizzou.
- Manage an extensive portfolio of courses and programs. Coordinate various components involved with launching, expanding and maintaining online programs among Mizzou.
- Provide tailored support to academic units offering distance courses and programs, ensuring compliance with state authorization, optimizing course scheduling, conducting market research, and delivering program status reports. Assess the viability of online programs and make recommendations on best practices.
- Proactively recommend degree expansion opportunities to academic units based on data-driven insights, with a focus on reducing or eliminating barriers for prospective students. Track new program approvals and ensure the development of accessible courses and programs across all degree levels (bachelor’s, certificate, master’s, education specialist, EdD, PhD), prioritizing flexible formats, transfer-friendly pathways, and support services that enhance student access and success.
- Lead project manager for multiple initiatives, leveraging project management software and a strong proficiency in technologies such as Zoom, Adobe Creative Cloud, Qualtrics, and PowerBI. Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and the ability to operate independently while driving projects to successful completion.
- Be intentionally invested, maintain positive outlook, high personal standard of excellence and cooperate and contribute to an engaged team environment.

- Strong organizational skills
- Experienced in project management

- The ability to effectively manage time, reprioritize job tasks based on business need, and meet deadlines
- Comfortable with multiple projects occurring simultaneously
- High written and verbal communication skills, especially in regard to explaining complex situations and processes to faculty, chairs and colleagues
Shift
Monday – Friday, 8AM-5PM CST
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- A master’s degree in a related field
- Previous experience managing multiple projects
- Minimum of four years of experience in higher education or a related field
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience in project management
- High written and verbal communication skills, especially in regards to explaining complex situations and processes to faculty, chairs and colleagues
- Ability to effectively manage time, reprioritize job tasks based on business need, and meet deadlines
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $52,915.20 – $57,000 per year
Grade: GGS-9E
