TalentHop is hiring for a Medical Support Assistant (Medical Receptionist) role with a healthcare program supporting Community Care scheduling operations for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). This position focuses on coordinating medical appointments between Veterans, VA facilities, and community healthcare providers to ensure timely access to quality care.
The successful candidate will manage scheduling activities, maintain accurate patient records, provide administrative support, and deliver excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential healthcare information while supporting efficient care coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform receptionist and administrative duties, including customer service and appointment scheduling.
• Process Community Care consults from intake through completion, including patient outreach and appointment coordination.
• Schedule appointments using healthcare systems while ensuring patient preferences and timely access to care.
• Review active and pending consults regularly to maintain accurate records and statuses.
• Identify scheduling challenges and communicate issues affecting timely patient care.
• Support clinic access plans by adjusting appointment arrangements when required.
• Verify patient identity and update demographic and insurance information.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and administrative information.
• Handle telephone communications professionally and respond to inquiries within required timelines.
• Protect patient confidentiality and follow healthcare privacy regulations.
• Resolve patient concerns and maintain positive relationships with Veterans, families, providers, and staff.
• Meet productivity goals related to scheduling accuracy, service quality, and patient satisfaction.
• Participate in training, team meetings, and professional development activities.
Requirements:
• U.S. citizenship and ability to successfully complete a government background investigation.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• English language proficiency.
