Description:
This is a National Remote role — you can telecommute from anywhere within the United States while tackling challenging casework. Optum is a global healthcare organization using technology to improve care and health outcomes. In this role you’ll support investigations, recoveries and claim resolutions for health plans, commercial clients and government entities, while working alongside a diverse team committed to inclusive, high-quality care.

Work Schedule & Training:

  • Full-time (40 hours/week) — Monday to Friday.
  • Must be flexible to work any 8-hour shift within 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST; occasional overtime may be required.
  • 4 weeks of on-the-job training will be provided and scheduled to align with your availability.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to questions from assigned team members and management about internal processes and procedures.
  • Be available to support teammates and provide ongoing coaching and development.
  • Handle escalated calls, anticipate customer needs and develop proactive solutions.
  • Mentor team members through side-by-side training and regular feedback.
  • Research and advise on applicability of laws, regulations and contractual requirements to cases.
  • Prepare and deliver training opportunities and job aids for the team.
  • Provide or obtain settlement authorityfollowing internal guidelines and client expectations.
  • Perform monthly oversight of assigned team members’ work and share results.
  • Identify trends that impact business operations and escalate or resolve as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with management and business partners to resolve issues and create consistent team processes.
  • Create and deliver client reporting as required.
  • Prioritize and organize your own workload to meet deadlines and support special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • 1+ years experience in an operations support or administrative role (day-to-day administrative responsibilities).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word (for documentation) andMicrosoft Excel (for reporting/data entry).
  • Ability to work full-time and flexible shift schedules within the business hours noted; occasional overtime may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with medical records.
  • 1+ years of healthcare customer service experience.

  • Keep company sensitive documents secure (when applicable).
  • Maintain a dedicated work area separate from living spaces that ensures information privacy.
  • Reside where you can receive a UnitedHealth Group–approved high-speed internet connection or use an existing high-speed service.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly pay range: $16.00 – $27.69 per hour (based on factors such as local labor market, education, experience, certifications).
