IMO Health is seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Medical Coding Analyst to support accurate, compliant, and high-quality code set mappings for clients using IMO Health’s interface terminology solutions. This role plays a vital part in maintaining coding accuracy while actively contributing to advanced editorial work, collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
As a Medical Coding Analyst, you will expand your expertise across clinical terminology, regulatory standards, and technical systems while working closely with cross-functional teams to support customer needs and data-driven decision-making.
What You’ll Do:
- Assign, review, and maintain administrative code set mappings, including ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT4, and HCPCS, in line with production and release schedules.
- Ensure content accuracy by maintaining updates aligned with nationally recognized coding guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer inquiries through IMO Health’s ticketing system when required.
- Stay informed on evolving clinical practices, regulatory requirements, and updates from CMS, AMA, and other governing bodies.
- Participate in editorial discussions, contributing to team standards, best practices, and continuous quality improvements.
- Proactively identify mapping inconsistencies, engage in solution-oriented discussions, and help resolve complex issues.
- Support team systems focused on quality assurance and data-informed decisions.
What You’ll Need:
- Hands-on experience with U.S.-based code sets: ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT4, and HCPCS.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or equivalent professional experience.
- At least three years of experience in medical records coding, electronic health records, and medical terminology.
- One of the following certifications is required: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex mapping challenges.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a clear and professional approach.
- Technical expertise in applying and expanding knowledge of coding systems and emerging technologies.
- Comfort working in a hybrid workplace model, balancing remote work with in-office collaboration when needed.
