We are looking for a Medical Bookkeeper to join our Finance Team, managing day-to-day financial operations for Thrive while supporting accounting functions across the Receptive family of companies. This role is ideal for detail-oriented bookkeeping professionals with medical billing experience and a strong understanding of insurance claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, posting transactions promptly in accounting systems
- Process accounts payable invoices, payroll, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely payments
- Record and reconcile daily transactions including revenue, cash receipts, payroll entries, and expense classifications
- Manage medical insurance receivables cycle, including billing, rejection management, denial resolution, collections, documentation, and reporting using ClaimMD or similar systems
- Process remittances, scan and document submissions, claim denials, and regulatory correspondence
- Collaborate with operations to meet financial goals and support reporting and ad hoc projects
Required Skills & Expertise:
- 2+ years of experience managing medical insurance claims (billing, coding, etc.) in clinical or specialty settings
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
- Strong knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and HIPAA regulations
- Experience with bank reconciliations and preparing financial statements
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Google Sheets / Excel skills
- Understanding of the medical claims cycle including billing, denial management, and collections
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, ethical, and professional
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with third-party claim inquiry tools or other medical billing platforms
- Experience in telehealth, behavioral health, or clinical environments
- Process improvement experience and workflow optimization
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across finance and operations

Logistics:
- Full-time position requiring overlap with U.S. PST
- Fully remote; must be located in the United States
Compensation: $45K – $65K USD depending on location
