Description:
Allied Benefit Systems is looking for a Medical Billing Specialist I to join our remote-friendly team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional experienced in billing and collections who can handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining accuracy and clear communication.
Essential Functions:
- Process and submit accurate, timely invoices to clients
- Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve billing discrepancies
- Communicate with clients regarding inquiries and payment statuses
- Maintain thorough records of all billing and collection activities
- Assist with month-end closing and reporting processes
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure billing accuracy
- Set up new client accounts and manage changes for existing accounts
- Audit accounts to ensure correct allocation of setup and changes
- Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets and Access databases to track client services and activity
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in billing and collections
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
