Join Our Team as a Remote Medical Biller!
AP Executive Staffing is seeking a skilled Medical Billing Specialist for a multi-specialty practice in Western New York. This fully remote opportunity allows flexible working hours while supporting a team that manages the full lifecycle of medical claims—from charge entry and claim submission to payment posting, denial management, and patient billing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track claim status using payer portals and billing software, resolving rejections and denials.
  • Prepare and submit appeals with complete documentation and provider narratives.
  • Identify and report trends in denials, underpayments, and billing errors.
  • Generate and review reports, including aging summaries and outstanding claims.
  • Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and prior authorizations.
  • Respond to patient and insurance inquiries via phone or email.
  • Assist with A/R follow-up and collection activities.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient health and financial information.
  • Apply CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding standards.
  • Post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and credits accurately.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Associate degree or certification in billing/coding.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty medical billing, with knowledge of commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers comp processes (orthopedic, neurologic, surgical, or related specialties preferred).
  • Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
  • Experience with EMR systems such as Medent, Epic, or similar.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
